Default Word 2010 Help Files Not Displayed Properly after creating new profile in win7

After my win7 profile was corrupted, I created a new one. Everything works fine except the help for Word 2010 is not displayed properly. Each subject is displayed as raw html code. The usual contents/index/search is not displayed. It's set to offline, as it was in my now corrupted profile.

This message appears on the top of the window: "This webpage might not be displayed properly. The content of the webpage does not match the type specified by the server. Click here for options."

The thing is, I'm not on a server; I'm using a standalone PC. And I haven't told word to connect to office.com. The options presented with this message don't solve the problem. They are: " show restricted content" - clicking that brings up a message asking me if i want to open an htm file. "what's the risk?" - irrelevant; "open desktop" - irrelevant; "notification bar help" - irrelevant; "open desktop" - still irrelevant.

How can I reload the help file or change an option to get it to display properly?

Thanks for any help.

Have you tried repairing the Office installation (via Start > Windows Control Panel > Programs > Programs & Features > Microsoft Office (version) > Change > Repair)?

Thanks so much for this tip. Oddly (or maybe not), after I opened excel and powerpoint to see if those programs displayed help properly (they did) I opened word again and help was back. Have no idea why, but I'm happy. If it happens again, you've helped me know how to solve it.
