Word 2013. Windows 10.
I have an email address in my document that I want to hyperlink such that when the reader left clicks on the email address, a box comes up with the "to" box containing the desired email address. When I highlight the email address in the Word document, right click to format the hyperlink, click on "email box", it all goes as planned but in the end all that comes up is google page when left clicking the email address. Also, the link says mailto: before the email address. |

If you input an email address into a document, then press the spacebar, Word should convert that into an email hyperlink that opens in your email application. If that's not happening, there is probably a fault in your Office installation. You could try repairing it, via Start > Windows Control Panel > Programs > Programs & Features > Microsoft Office (version) > Change > Repair.
