Default How to Create Outline

I'm using Word 2010 and I'm wanting to create a template with an outline. I've created a multi-level outline and linked the levels to a style. My question is how/can I create multi-level outline that is static and not changed? It seem that my outline keeps changing. Also, what settings do I need to get my outline to keep the use the outline levels I have picked. So if I start at level 1, push return key, I get another level, If I push return again I get level to etc.

One more question, how do I get my level 1 always on a new page?

Thank!

I'm not sure what you mean by this. I assume that you followed the directions at How to create numbered headings or outline numbering in Ribbon Versions of Word by Shauna Kelly in setting up your outline.

This has to do with the setting in the Style for each level. There will be a setting for "Style for following Paragraph." If you want it to be the same level, set it for the same style.

Modify the paragraph formatting of your level 1 style to have a page break before. This is on the second tab of paragraph formatting. Again, go at this through modify style.
