Default Space above footnote seperator... (pictures)

I want to get rid of the space above the footnote so that the two lines highlighted in blue fill the gap.

If I convert the footnote to an endnote it solves this problem but it messes up the formatting of the area highlighted in red (the spacing) and I can't get it back to the way it was.

Any ideas on how I can sort either problem (ideally the first one so that the second doesn't occur) would be great.

Cheers, James.

What I do is:
  1. click on the FIRST footnote, then
  2. go to my Paragraph group in your Home tab
  3. click the small drop down arrow
  4. Then I adjust my spacing to zero in my Before setting
If you click your backward P in your Pagragraph group you will see what I suggest doing
