My situation is that i am creating a booklet 9" x 6" (portrait format) Along with text pages i wish to create a number of separate pages of photographs i.e. one photo per page with text description below. To make them as big as possible i will create them in landscape orientation. Of course when in a portrait shaped booklet the photo pages will need to be flipped 90 degrees. What way should i create the pages to ensure that the photo and text will rotate in unison?

Word has no built-in functionality for swapping the orientation of a page and objects on it (not that the latter should be necessary - presumably you'd want portrait photos to remain portrait and landscape photos to remain landscape; all you'll want is to re-size them). Furthermore, when you change orientation, you also need to consider what you want to happen with headers & footers. Sometimes it's just easier to rotate the photos and use textboxes or tables for captioning so you can rotate the text in them, too.

thank you for your suggestions. Basically anyone reading the booklet will be holding it in the normal portrait position to read the text and will then have to tilt the booklet 90 degrees to the landscape position to look at the photos.

Which is what my previous post addressed.
