Default Blank Boxes

Hello experts,

I created a word document of my resume and send it over, the recipient said that he is seeing blank boxes, please see screen shot 1, this is what is in my original document however when I tries to open it via gmail perhaps a preview or something, he is seeing what is shown in screen shot 2.

I just inserted a plain box. Please help.

How did you insert the text boxes, and how did you send the document (as attachment? body of the message?)

Thanks for the response,

I inserted using the "Insert" menu Insert->Shapes->Rectangle and colored the box. I sent it as an attachment via gmail.

The only way you will have much control over what a recipient sees is to send as pdf. What happens when I send my document to someone else? Will Word mess up my formatting?

Generally, text is positioned in resumes using Tables rather than Text Boxes.
