Default Have Text Entered in Content Control / PreDefined Field Populate Field in Footer

Hey Guys -

I do a lot of documentation and have a common, basic format I try to follow which includes a few common parts. Using Developer Mode, I created a template which contains 3-4 pre-formatted (rich text) fields which includes the document title, date, heading, and footer.

As I often forget to change the footer, I am wanting to make my template automatically take the text from whatever I enter as the "Title" and use it in the field I have in the Footer. I've tried setting tabs and labels in the properties of the Content Controls, but can't get it replicate over or work correctly. I tried using the default XML Mapping, but it doesn't do rich text - plus seems like it would be overkill as this is the only thing I want to add.

What would be the easiest way to accomplish this? Thank You!

See StyleRef Field. Apply a character style to your Content Control, use a StyleRef field in the footer.

An alternative is to use a Document Property Content Control as set forth in Repeating Data (Populating Multiple Like Fields). (Search the article for "Document Property.")

Those are two quick methods that people have found useful.
