Word e-newsletter with built in calendar that will input dates into Outlook
Is this even possible?
One of my clients asked me to build them a newsletter from Word. They now would like to know if there is a way to add a weekly calendar in the newsletter with an accompanying button that inputs the calendar event into their Outlook calendar. I know its possible with HTML newsletter but I am not sure that it is with Word. Any ideas? |

You could certainly add a button to the document that would add an appointment item to Outlook. This has two potential issues you need to be aware of
1. It would require a macro and you cannot force users to allow macros in a document to run (and some security systems will not allow attachments that have macros). 2. Not all potential recipients of your newsletter will use Outlook. My recommendation would be not to do this. Allow the recipients to make the decision whether they want to record details of your client's newsletter in their calendars.
