Word documents appear in Windows Photo Viewer
I have a shortcut on my desktop for My Documents. Some of the documents are the file type: Microsoft Word 97-2003 Document. Most of the documents are of the DOCX file type. When I click on the DOCX File type documents, the window pops up: "Windows Photo Viewer can't open this picture because either Photo Viewer doesn't support this file format, or you don't have the latest update to Photo Viewer." The few documents that are of the Microsoft Word 97...file type open up with no problem in My Documents folder, but the DOCX File types bring up the Photo Viewer window. I don't know how the DOCX File documents got into the Windows Photo Viewer program in the first place. I may have done it accidentally, & I have no idea when this happened. It is only in my MS Word program all the documents can be opened regardless of file type.
How can I open all my documents - DOCX File types as well as the Microsoft Word 97 file types - in My Documents shortcut without activating the pesky Windows Photo Viewer message? Thanks in advance for any advice. Hummer43 |

It would appear someone has messed up your file associations. To fix them, see: http://www.ehow.com/how_7150656_rest...ociations.html
