Hi all! This is my first post here, so I'm sorry if I do something wrong. I'm currently writing a long document, and for stylistic reasons I'd like to add margin/side notes instead of footnotes. All I can find online is about adding comments, which wouldn't work for me. Instead I'd like to explicitly write in the side margin of my document, at the same line that I'm making a note about. An example can be found here: Tufte CSS. Is Word suitable for this? If not I'll just use the footnotes

This can be done using Frames. See:
Essential to doing this effectively is to do it using Styles. If you are not using styles, you are shooting yourself in the foot in so many ways. |
