Default Word 2013 question - master list current list

Word 2013 - References
I have references in Word. Word fills the left (Master list) and right side (Active list).

I do not understand why because for each reference I do work equally. In the same way, fill out the book/web page etc.. information and have the same form of the APA citation style, etc ..?

What I'm doing wrong or better question is this wrong?

Do I need to make a copy from the main list of to current list, or?

The reason for both is that the 'Master' list is stored permanently, so that it's available for copying into any document without the need to recreate the references from scratch for each new document.

As for "for each reference I do work equally", you'll find you cannot insert a citation to a reference that exists in the 'Master' list but not in the 'Current' list. Likewise, if you get a document from someone else and that document contains some references in its 'Current' list that you'd like to use for your own purposes, you can copy them from there into your 'Master' list, from whence you can then copy it into any document you choose (you could also simply copy the citation to another document, but that wouldn't add it to your 'Master' list).

Thanks Paul, thanks for your help and thanks for the note, I did so believing that these are two different forums (truth, with the same area covered) but at two different websites.
I believed that most people are not users of both, and I was thinking, different people, different web sites = a better chance to get an answer.. My apologies. I thank you once again for your help

Yes, they're different forums, which is why it's important that you provide links to all when you cross-post.

FWIW, I monitor/contribute to 10 different forums on a regular basis and moderate/administer 4.

All clear. Thank you.
Btw, regarding questions, just checking my document, there are properly showing all quotes, both from the Master and Active list and can not see the difference between them within a document.

How to copy all citation/quotes to the Master list or leave it how it is, because the document properly appear all the quotes?

As I said before, the only references you can cite are those that are in the Current list. You cannot cite something from the Master list without first adding it to the Current list. Whenever you add something to the Current list via the 'New' button, it gets added to the Master list as well - which is why you won't ordinarily see any difference between their entries. The only times a difference in the details might crop up is if:
• you copy a citation from another document into your current one and the source has a different version of the reference to one that's in your Master list;
• you edit something in one list and not the other (Word prompts to update the Master list if your edit the Current list, but not vice-versa); or
• you add a new entry to the Current list for which there is an existing entry in the Master list (again, Word prompts to update the Master list).
