Mystery of the disappearing dash (when Copy/Paste to Notepad)
Having an issue where when I copy and paste French (Canadian) text from Word to Notepad (among other programs), certain dashes do not come along for the ride.
I did not create the Word doc from which these elusive dashes originate so I'm not sure what exactly they are or why they resist duplication. The dashes in the three words below, when copied from Word and pasted into Notepad disappear (although they did not when I copyed from the Word doc into this text box!). Please see attached document for a 1st hand look. dépasse‑t‑elle constitue‑t‑elle est‑il Really appreciate any assistance with this. |
