page numbering
I have several files compiled using Word 2007 and each file comprises of about 150 pages, the first file will start at one and finish at 150, how can I number the next file to start at 151 and so forth, as this is my autobiography for my grandchildren to read, when I’m no longer about, I would like to get the page numbering right, for obvious reasons...! The only way I can see of doing it is the merge the various files into one and then page number, but I don’t like doing that as some files contain photographs and the formatting will alter and I will have to edit all again. Surly there must be away.

Go to the footer of each document and click “page numbering” in the insert ribbon, and in the menu select “format page numbers”; at the bottom of the dialog box, click “start at”, and put the initial number for that document.

Many thanks, I will try that later today, when the Grandchildren have gone to school.

All the years of searching for a solution to this problem, put a post on the forum and a couple of hours later and it is solved. Once again, many thanks for your help.
