Error window: "Document name or path is not valid"
I'm running Word 2002 (10.6612.6626) SP3 on my Windows 7 64-bit desktop computer.
When I try to call up a specific encrypted DOC file from a thumb drive, I consistently get an error message. (See attachment.) Neither of the message's suggestions have any effect. I have administrative privileges, and Word recognizes and opens other documents on the same thumb drive. Word has accessed this file in the past. I have carefully entered the file's password, so it's unlikely that a wrong password is the cause. Suggestions, please. |

Opening from, printing from or saving to flash media with Word are the most consistent causes of document corruption, which is the most likely explanation here.
ALWAYS copy to and from flash media and work from the hard drive.
