Hi gurus, I want to use same template for multiple letters. In which some values will change identically. I want to use a variable for that values, so that i can easily change the values instead of doing a replace operation. Say for example, My name is variable contains "TOM" in the template, which comes often in a file. In the second file, by changing the variable value into "MOM" i can replace all "TOM" s into "MOM"s. Like this i want to use so many variables.

You can easily create a custom document property, via File|Info|Properties|Advanced Properties|Custom, then use a DOCOPROPERTY field to replicate its value in the document.

Thank You macropad it is working fine, but it seems that i have limitations in usage. only 15 to 20 names are available. also i think it is related to entire ms word software. if i changed value in new template, then what about the previous one ?

You can add well over 100 custom document properties to a document. If you change the contents of a custom document property in a template, all new documents created from the template will inherit the change; existing documents will not be affected.
