Word 2007 stalls when pasting into the "address" field of a link

For a few weeks, Word 2007 has been acting up when I create a hyperlink. It stalls when I paste text into the "address" field of the hyperlink dialog. Sometimes Word responds in a minute, sometimes it stalls so long that I have to restart it. I ran Office Diagnostics and the tests come out clean.



How should I debug this problem? Thanks.

The problem may be a corrupt document. Corrupt documents can often be 'repaired' by inserting a new, empty, paragraph at the very end, copying everything except that new paragraph to a new document based on the same template (headers & footers may need to be copied separately), closing the old document and saving the new one over it.

Paul, thanks for the tip. It seems to work; I'll know for sure if the problem doesn't reappear in the next week — but more importantly, this technique is something I can try for any sort of weirdness! (Teach a man how to fish and all that.)
