How Do I Get Two Different Layouts on One Page?
Okay, I have this text that I downloaded from the web. I upgraded it from an earlier version of Word. You can see from the screenshots that there are two instances where a split type of layout is used (I don't know the technical term for this.) Somehow the first page has it, but the second does not. I don't want a page with lots of empty space and I need to know if there is a way to get the second page to do what the first is doing. Thanks.

You can do that by using the "columns" layout from the PAGE LAYOUT ribbon (select "Columns" from the "Page Setup" section). Once you establish your column parameters, copy and paste the data at the beginning of the column left-hand column and it will continue until your data is complete...or, until you want it to stop (then you will have to re-establish the normal page layout).

Select the text that you want formatted in columns, and then click Page Layout | Columns | More Columns and pick the number you want. Word will add the required section break(s) for you.
Alternatively, you can insert section breaks manually and then apply column formatting.
