Page break and page numbers not working

Hello:



I hope someone can help me, because this is driving me insane. I have a document that I need to number into three different sections (i.e.: a couple of unnumbered pages, some pages in roman numerals, and some pages with Arabic numerals). I know that, in order to do this, I need to create a page break, format the page numbers, and start anew.

I've done this many times before, and I did this successfully for one section. But in the other section, it isn't working. I created a page break, and I told it to start at 1. But it continues to count the previous pages - even though there's a page break! Does anyone know what is going on? Why this isn't working? Any help would be appreciated it.
