Default Word does not show wrong words (but spelling checker is actually working)

Hello everybody,

In my current document, Word does not recognize mistakes in the spelling of words automatically, i.e. the words are not underlined. If I type F7, the misspelled word are recognized, though. When I open a new document, the spelling checker works flawlessly and underlines misspelled word immediately. Since my current document contains a lot of customized style settings, I do not want to change the document. Does anyone have an idea what my problem may be, and how I can solve it?

I'm using Office 365.

Best regards,
Sebastian

Do you by chance have the option checked for the document to not show spelling errors?

I have no idea why this box was checked, but this was the problem. Maybe Word did this automatically because I use two different languages in one document (German and English).

Thank you very much!
