I have several third party fonts installed. Word does not display all the font weights that are available in the system Fonts folder. Word seems to conflict the fonts, as if they're duplicates.
See the attachments - e.g. I have Futura installed, with various weights - book, medium, bold, extra bold + condensed versions of each. But in the Word Fonts menu, only about half show up. It's missing bold, extra bold. This is the case for several fonts. Adobe products, like Indesign, don't have this problem - they break out the typeface and weight as separate menus, so the options are there. Running Windows 7, Office 2010. |

Word is a word processor. Indesign is not.
You can likely insert printer commands to switch these, but cannot do it directly throughout the interface. |
