Default Headers in Restricted Documents

I have created a form in Word 2010 using legacy content controls. Prior to distributing amongst my department for use, I will restrict editing.
I would like the headers on pages 2 through x to refer to fields a and b on page one (first name, last name).
Unfortunatel, restricting editing appears to both prevent the referencing, as well as disable access to the header. Any solutions?
Thanks.

I've split your query off to its own thread, as the issue is quite different.

For your requirement, you could apply unique Style names to the formfields in question, then use STYLEREF fields in the page header to refer to those Styles. If you don't want the content to appear on page 1, the simplest solution is to apply a 'different first page' layout to the form.

Legacy formfields are NOT content controls. This is a different tool. I assume you are not using Content Controls but rather legacy formfields.

Here is a follow up on the StyleRef Field, which should be the tool you need. You would create a character style (not a linked or paragraph style) to mark the information you want to be in the header.
