Page numbers in footer BUT
The problem is I want to create a template for writing comedy scripts. The firs page is the title page and the numbering does not start until after this. Office 2007 Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 12-04-2015 at 09:52 AM. Reason: Mark as solved |

Insert a temporary page break. Set the different first page option from the page setup layout tab or the header/footer view tab, unlink the footers then insert the page numbering in the main header starting from number 1, leaving no page number in the first page. Delete the temporary second page and save the template.

See How can I get a different header/footer on the second page?
You can, in your template's footer add the page number where you want it and then click on the checkbox for "Different First Page." Your footer will seem to disappear but it will appear on the second and subsequent pages. If you want the number on the first numbered page to be 1, format your page numbers to start with 0.
