MS-Word 2003 Help Needed Urgent
Dear Friends,
Is it possible to detect that "the text in a MS-Word 2003 document has not been typed manually" or copied from other sources like notepad or clipboard, etc., Could it be possible to find, actually what i mean to say is when we copied some text in notepad it will be stored in clip board temporarily right? and now i pasted that text into a MS-Word 2003 document, actually i didn't write it manually right. At this situation is there any process to find that the text i just pasted into the word doc has not been written manually rather it is brought from a notepad or clipboard. Is it possible to find it using MS-word code behind files? Please help if any body knows about it it's urgent please.... Thanks & Regards Karthik. |

Yes, it's possible. If the copied text has format info, it will be brought to Word as well. If the format is a bit unusual for Word documents, we can make the assumption.
Moreover, if the content matters, there are many ways to check if you write the content by yourself. If you need more specific answer, tell us what you are exactly trying to do, and who is gonna detect it, a software? your teacher? |

MS-Word 2003 Help Needed Urgent
Hi Friend,
First of all thanks for your reply, actually i am a freelancer, two boys works for me from remote place, actually they have to type the text i provide which may be on any jpg image files, and actually what they will have to do is to type that text into the ms-word 2003 document with the specifications given by me, but i have a doubt that if they use any conversion software without typing it manually, they only send finally text filled doc files through mails. So i will have to detect from the files they would send. Could you please tell me the process for checking these word files, where can i check these formats and how can i detect that text has not been typed manually or used any editors like notepad or s/w. Could you please provide the difference between manually typed text and pasted text, how can i check this difference. Thanks & Regards Karthik. Last edited by Karthik123; 01-22-2010 at 09:20 AM. If the result is correct, why do you have to care about how they input the text? They either input the text in Word directly, or input into Notepad and then copy to Word, I can't see the difference. For me, I would input it directly, what's the advantage to input into Notepad first? In other words, what's the harm if they input into Notepad and use copy/paste?

Dear Sir,
Actually my client wants me (or my team) to input the text manually only, if i send the files that my boys sent to me without checking weather they have been typed manually or not, my client would cancel my deal. So please tell me the difference or how would i check it through word code files or format info as you said earlier. Thank you. Regards Karthik |

In fact I have a similar problem. I have also two persons in Southeast Asia that work for me typing text in word. They are supposed to work ten hours a day seven days a week but I think they work much less, in which case I should pay them accordingly. I wonder if there are means with word 2002 of checking the time they started typing the text and the time they finished typing.

It's better to come up with a reasonable payout based on amount of words. It's like freelance writer, usually charge by word ($xx per word).

A couple of things that might help:
1. The MSOffice Clipboard stores the last 24 items that have been copied (from Office documents). Press Ctrl + C twice to open the clipboard and view its contents. 2. If you go to File, Properties, Statistics you can see the total editing time for the document. This might not be accurate if the document is open on someone's machine but they are not actively working on it for a long period. Cheers Steve_D |
