Canvas + textbox + group = weird ghost bug?
Hi all. I'm new to this forum (and to forum postings in general, so please bare over with me )
I've been experiencing the weirdest problem in Word (2010, 2013 and 2016). I think it's best explained by this easily reproducable example: 1. create a canvas 2. create a shape within the canvas (a line for instance) 3. create a text box with some text within the canvas 4. group the two 5. copy the group by <crtl + drag and drop> 6. try editing the text of the second group. As you will see, the text within the first group will change simultaneously. 7. As you are not interested in this feature, ungroup the second group. Unfortunately the text within the first group still changes, when you edit the text of the second text box. 8. This is all wrong, so you undo (<crtl + z>) all you're actions involving the second group. As you will se, undoing the creation of group #2 will corrupt the original text box! Certainly this must be a bug and apparently it has persisted since (at least) Office 2010. Do you also expierience this bug and do you have any idea why it occurs? Best regards Søren. |
