I have 4 sections in my Word doc. I need to change Section 4 to Appendix A.
I spent 2 hours messing with this document using the following help file: http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numb...ppendixes.html The biggest problem I'm having when using the new list style I created is my headings. I can't get the text under each Section to align correctly. Heading 1 should be centered on the page (Section # underlined) then the title of the section centered on the next line. If I hit the Enter key after selecting Heading 1, I get another Section heading (Section 2). If I use a soft return, the text left-aligns on the page. Then if I use the center align button it moves text to the center and the Section 1 heading above it to the left. WTH???? The other problem I'm having is with the numbering. I wanted to start all my paragraph numbers in each section with the section number. So Section 1 would be 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and so on. When I get to Section 2, the numbering should start with 2.1, 2.2...but it starts with 1.7 (continuing from the last section 1 paragraph number of 1.6) even though I have a section break between sections. And when I get to my Appendix, the title isn't looking at all like what I set it at in the List Style. Instead of <centered><underlined>APPENDIX A</></></> I get a left-aligned italicized A.1 with SECTION 4 indented by .7". I have wasted so much time. I had my whole document numbered correctly. Just need an appendix at the end instead of a section 4. Is there an easier way???? |
