When applying styles word is automatically reverting to "strong" style partway through my document
When applying styles word is automatically reverting to "strong" partway through my document, even though they are working fine at the start. There are no sections breaks or anything so I cant figure out why it is doing this, but it is going to affect my table of contents if I don't get to the bottom of it! Please can anyone help?

'Strong' is a character style and will be influenced by manual formatting in the document.
Use CTRL+Q to remove paragraph formatting and CTRL+Space to remove manual formatting in the selection before applying the required paragraph style.

"Strong" should not make any difference to your Table of Contents content since it is a character style. However, if it applied to headings or other text that does appear in your Table of Contents, it may alter the formatting or appearance of your TOC.

Thank you
Thank you. That worked a treat. Just clearing the formatting before applying it was just the trick.
