Default Create post card

I just want to do one simple thing. I bought several blank 3.5 x 5.5 postage paid postcards at the post office. I want to print my return address and recipient address on the front. On the other side of the postcard I want to print a short message. I guess this will require two passes of print jobs with one for the front and one for the back.

I have found templates for all kinds of fancy formats, but nothing for a simple thing like I want to do.

How about using the "Size" command on the Page Layout ribbon to set the size of the page to match your post cards?

  1. Click on the Page Layout tab.
  2. Click on the Size button.
  3. Click on the More page sizes at the bottom of the menu.

Word is hopeless with custom paper sizes, however all that is necessary is to set the margins to match the postcard size and leave the page size as standard. You then create a two page document that equates to the postcard and print one page on each side of the card.

The method suggested by Graham is how I print odd-sizes. I think both Word and most printer drivers are hopeless when it comes to odd sizes.

Printing to odd sizes works ok for me, but my printer (HP Photosmart all-in-one) has a "scale to paper size" option which might make the difference.
