Hi there,
First of all, as a newbie, apologies for perhaps an obvious question. I have a manual that has 17 chapters. Each chapters includes various sub-headings. I have various references to illustrations in each chapter. For example the text may say "for further information, see illustration X" I would like to create a table of all illustrations in Word at the start. And I would like each illustration to be numbered in reference to the chapter. So for example the text in chapter 14 may be "for further information, see illustration 14.01" All numbers should be automatic and update if I insert a new illustration. I am using the various headings already as part of the text, so wondered if there is a simple way to have a separate illustrations table and reference system. Sorry for the long post, but I hope it is clear! Any advice welcome!!! Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 11-05-2015 at 05:28 AM. Reason: Mark as solved - changed title to give more info and combined two questions |
