Word Template losing quick parts
I have made Word template for Share Point that dynamically create and populate Word Document.
I've made that to insert "Quick Parts" and "Document Property". So everything is working great until I copy that Word in other Library where I do not have that metadata. Do somebody know some solution my problem. Thank you! Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 11-05-2015 at 03:22 PM. Reason: changed title to give more info - marked as not solved |

That metadata? Not sure what you mean here.
I am guessing that by quick parts you are referring to either AutoText or other Building Blocks. If you create the template and store the building blocks in the template (not in the building blocks file or the normal template), those building blocks and document properties will be available in documents created from the template. This is true so long as the template remains "attached" to the document. If you break the attachment, you lose access to the building blocks. Building Blocks can only be stored in templates, not documents. Automated Boilerplate Using Microsoft Word What is the relationship between a Microsoft Word document and its template? Ok so template is made in one Document Library and it is working perfect.
Metadata is in Document Library columns and it is taking data from there. But when I copy the Word in another Document Library it is coming empty. Because there is not data in that Lybrary. How can i copy with text? Thank you! |

This looks like there are formfields, Macrobutton Fields, or Content Controls in your template. In the first image, they have been filled in. In the second they are in their original forms.

I think it looks like Content Controls that are linked to an embedded custom xml file. In the second document your xml file is probably there but the elements contain no data.
