Step referencing in a numbered table
Hello,
I am attempting to create step references in a vertically number table. The table is actually a set of numbered instructions. The first column is the step number, the second column is an instruction, and the third column is a space to write the data pertinent to the instruction. At certain points, I want to be able to instruct the user to refer back to a previous step to re-record the data performed there. In my example below, I would like to make the line that says "Record the value from step 1.2" include a reference to the 1.2 line so that it would correct itself in the event that the numbering scheme changes (in my example a step was inserted before step 1.2, thus changing 1.2 to 1.3). I would ideally like to be able to use the automatic numbering function to do the numbering in the left column using tiered numbering (1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.2.1, etc) http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/u...psyomhmprg.jpg Thank you in advance for your help! |
