I created a number of styles in a document, mainly headers, but nothing shows in the navigation pane, where it is actually stated, 'This document does not contain headings'.
What's going on? |

Headings and headers are two entirely different things. The message you cited suggests you're trying to use a Table of Contents, which ordinarily uses Word's built-in Heading Styles for headings in the body of the document (not in page headers).
