Command cannot be performed because a dialog box is open.
This message comes up when I attempt to launch Word. I click OK and that box closes leaving another, which says 'Word automatically saved changes to the document template. Do you want to load it?' What's going on? |

That suggests you have some third-party addin or a macro in a global template that's trying to make some changes but is coded in such a way that it's generate generating errors (possibly through conflicts with another template), then making some changes to the relevant template. Id suggest checking what addins you have installed, disabling all non-MS ones, then progressively re-enabling them & re-starting Word till you find the culprit.

Thanks Paul. I couldn't see any add-ins or macros but I've uninstalled and re-installed Office, and it all seems OK now.
