Default order of files

Recently, when I access files in Microsoft office, the files list displays in strange orders. When I first hit "open" my list of folders and files shows up in alpha order but left to right/top to bottom instead of top to bottom/left to right as it always had. Then, when I click on the primary folder I normally access, which is my "Coustic" folder, the files display in alpha order but last to first, that is, z to a. Seems all of my other folders display in correct (a to z ) order. Any idea why or how I can correct it?

Click the column header of the column you wish to sort i.e filename. Click again to reverse the sort order.
