Using alternating borders in adjacent cells
In a table, where I believe I have used the "Split Cells" feature I cannot get the borders to cooperate. I have a row with 4 cells (rows above it and below it have only 2). I want the 2nd and 4th row to have a bottom border so when printed the user can write on the line. Here is what happens:
I select the 2nd row and add a bottom border, fine. I select the 4th row and add a bottom border, but then the entire row becomes underlined (all four cells). Can't undo it by going into the 1st and 3rd cells and toggling the bottom border. Sometimes it works to go to the next row and toggle the top border, but what a headache. Any suggestions? Thanks!
