Fantabulator is on a distinguished road
Default Can't figure out formula problem using form controls

Hello all,

I am trying to create a log sheet that students will be able to use on their phones. I want to tabulate their daily total of hours and then add all daily totals to give them a weekly total.

To figure out the daily, I designate

Monf( Monday finish)-
Mons( Monday start time)= mtotal
(this one works fine)

When I try to use a form control calculation to calculate the following:

=mtotal+ttotal+wtotal+thtotal+fritotal

the number is all screwed up. Is what I am doing possible? I know it is because I have seen it on other forms.

I can't figure out if I am doing something wrong with my formula.

There are long-standing bugs affecting the use of formfields for calculations using the results of other formfields. Why MS has never bothered to fix this is beyond me. That said, you can do all your calculations using formula fields. To see how to do a wide range of calculations in Word, check out my Microsoft Word Field Maths Tutorial, at:

For Date/Time calculations, though, even using formula fields isn't straightforward. To see how to do this and just about everything else you might want to do with dates & times in Word, check out my Microsoft Word Date Calculation Tutorial, at:
http://windowssecrets.com/forums/sho...ation-Tutorial

Do read the document's introductory material.
