Captions: Changing captions in Appendix update all captions

Hello all,

This is my first post, so please bear with me.

I am writing a large document with an Appendix. The main document uses Headings 1 - 4 while the Appendix uses Heading 6 - 7.

My issue is that when I insert a caption in my appendix and choose the "Chapter starts with heading" and I choose "Heading 6" it updates all the figures in the main document with being based on "Heading 6" instead of the correct "Heading 1".

Is there a way to only update the captions for the figures in the appendix based on my "Heading 6", while leaving the captions in the main document alone?
