Hi, I have several word documents that have links to Excel. After a recent Windows 10 update these word documents no longer update.

I'm running windows 10, office 2013 on a 64 bit desktop. Word Document and Excel spread sheet are in the same folder.



In the Word documents that don't work I can see the links, tell word to update, have word open the excel spread sheet, all looks OK, but the data in Word does not update.

Visio still updates with excel links just fine.

I recreate a new word document and link to the same excel spread sheet as a document that doesn't update and the new documents update as they should.

Rather than recreate all my word documents I'd sure like to know what has changed, if anyone has any thoughts I's sure appreciate them! Thanks!

Wonder of wonders, after not working for several days and may reboots the function mysteriously has started to work again. I wonder why?
