Default insert .pdf (scanned file) as graphic

probably a FAQ, but the forum search disregards the string pdf ;-}

I have a colleague (honest! I myself am lucky enough to have Acrobat Pro, so different ways of doing things) who wants to insert scanned images of newsletter pages in a Word file. Insert > Picture > From file doesn't seem to do the trick, so I said I'd ask on the forum.

In what file format are the images? Has the colleague tried repairing Office?

The first set of scans were .pdf, which Word seemed to disdain. This time round we were able to rescan the hard copies and use .png, but it would be interesting to know how to reuse .pdf files we receive from third parties.

Your should be able to insert PDFs into Word, but only the first page of the PDF will show.
