I have a 70 page word document and when I introduce Page Numbering, I find that the numbering runs consecutively from 1 to 41, and then starts with page number 1. This is then followed by page number 1, 2 and 3, and then starts with number 1 again, etc. Can anyone please help. Many thanks

Your document evidently has Section breaks, with the affected Sections' numbering set to start from 1. Open the affected header/footer and select the page #. Then choose Page Number>Format Page Numbers and check the 'Continue from previous Section' option. Repeat for other affected Sections.
