I use MS Word For Mac v. 14.4.7.

Lately, I have been unable to type the letter Capital 'D'. It would automatically jump my cursor to the bottom of the first page of my document, regardless if I were on page 1 or page 4.

Now I am having difficulties with the quotation marks """. It does not jump my cursor, it simply does not type the character/symbol.



I believe my issue is limited to MS Word because I can type D and " easily enough without issue in web forums, emails, etc.

Any suggestions?

Wow, 77 views and no one has any ideas? Now I'm sure I'm stuck and won't get it fixed :-(

A little patience on your part wouldn't go astray. Aside from the fact it was after midnight, my time, when you posted and I have a life to live outside of waiting for new posts on the dozen or so forums I support, it's quite possible those 'views' represent nothing more than web-bot accesses.

As for your problem, your description suggests you've re-assigned the Fn–Right Arrow shortcut or the Command–Down Arrow shortcut to the D. As I don't use a Mac and this isn't a specialist Mac forum, there may not be anyone here with detailed knowledge about such tings. That said, see:

I had no idea that bots would create page views - that sucks, it's misleading. I posted 4 days ago, and since there had been no reply, I was just surprised, I did not realize this was mostly a one-person administered forum as opposed to a dynamic community forum.

No complaints, just explaining why I was surprised at 4 days and 77 views with no reply. Now I completely understand, and I'm sorry you felt offended. If I had known the setup of the forum, I would not have expected you to live and breathe on every post here, so please accept my apologies.

Thank you for the links, I read through them both. Neither seem to work, my issue is not system wide, but simply in MS-Word only.

Not quite one person. Take a look at Paul's first suggestion, that a keyboard reassignment within Word is at work.

Also, take a look at Add-Ins. I do not know how they work on a Mac. The last time I used Word on a Mac is was 6.0, I believe. The forums Paul listed may help with that. Add-Ins in Microsoft Word
