Question Image Disappearing With "In Line With Text" Option

Hello -

Here's my problem. Whenever I insert a graphic into Word (via copy/paste, or the insert graphic button), about 95% of the image is hidden behind the text above when the "In Line With Text" option is selected for Text Wrapping.

When I change the text wrapping to any other option (e.g., square, tight, top/bottom), it reappears.

I desperately need help with getting these images into "In Line With Text."

Whenever I create a new document, the images and "In Line With Text" works fine. So it probably has something to do with the document.

Here's a link from my DropBox to two files:
(1) Sample screenshots
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2625864/Foru...geProblem.docx

(2) The actual document
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2625864/Foru...reenshots.docx

PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks in advance.

This link suggested by JudieRaman:
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/DrwGrphcs/...leGraphics.htm
is IMHO a very generalised & overly complex coverage of all possible problems.
The simple fact is we all need a simple straightforward reliable way to copy-paste both text & images from websites to Word.
It's a basic everyday need for almost everyone.
It appears to me, after hours spent experimenting that first you need to check that your Normal.doc has specific settings embedded.
These are covered in the article to which the link points, even if it is written as though it may or may not work.
Do not be put off by the overly technical "explanation of the problem" - that's MS's concern, their job is to ensure their programs work (always!).
And don't accept the offered "best solution" of seperately saving pics to another file & then copy pasting to Word.
That's no solution to anyone who's busy & it's not what you need to do.
From Word 2000 on, in all OS's, it should be easy to copy-paste from web to Word - both text & graphics without any special problems.
It seems however if things go wrong, as usual you need to wade through several settings (with no adequate explanation of the effect as per usual - thanks MS) until the magic combination is found which is the default for Word anyway.
The required settings are covered in the article - good luck.

Default Paragraph settings

Not sure whether still somebody is looking for an "easy" solution. Here's what I came up with (for Word 2010, though):

Check the paragraph settings, particularly the line spacing: don't set an exact value! Insert the figure as a separate paragraph (best assign a style to the figure). With elastic paragraph spacing ("Auto") and single line spacing the figures magically reappeared.

I also encounter this problem for many times, but i can not fix it. This problem result from the line spacing when you copy the graph into word document. Please do the following:

1. Select the text and the graph and then right click and chose "Paragraph"
2. In "indents and spacing" tap and under "Spacing" and under "line spacing" click drop down arrow and chose "single". This bug should be away.

Hope this instruction would be a help.

Default Image Disappearing With "In Line With Text" Option

In Word 2010, try left clicking on the image and then, in the Home tab in the Ribbon across the top, in the Styles section, click "Normal". You may have to click "Normal" twice. That worked for me when NOTHING else did.
