My office icons have a >> symbol in blue. I would like to remove these.

Can you attach a picture showing exactly what icons you're referring to? You can do this via the paperclip symbol on the 'Advanced' posting menu. Also, can you tell us if you have a third-party app installed that does backups and the like, just in case that's modifying the icons (some do so to give you a visual indication of which files have/haven't been backed up).

Icons for shortcuts (to programs, for example) in Windows have an arrow in them. If that is what you are referring to, there is nothing that you can do, as far as I know.

But, as Paul wrote, we need more details.
