Default Regain minimize/maximize document for Excel and Word

I had a glitch in that the icon in the top right hand corner didn't seem to function in Word or Excel. All docs and spreadsheets were always maximized. Also, the desktop looked very different. Microsoft support easily and quickly showed me the remedy: She went to the "caption" box, on the lower, far right corner of the screen, and clicked on that. A column opened up on the right side. There is a box at the bottom of the column entitled "Tablet Mode." It has to be clicked off to get the regular desktop and also enable the minimize/max icon. The desktop looks very different in the tablet mode. . . It only shows Microsoft Office icons which you have to use from the desktop. I hope this helps you!
