Default How to make menu bar (Ribbon) visible? Word 2013

I somehow clicked the wrong button and my upper menu bar, the one with all the regular icons and stuff and disappeared and now I have to click "Home" or another listing to bring the complete bar down for use. That's one extra mouse click I don't need. And the menu bar is just fine in size its regular way, but I cannot figure out how to get it to re-display again. Help is useless.

Thanks. I'm running Word 2013.

It sounds like you minimised your ribbon area. You can show them again by double-clicking one of the tabs.

Thanks! Not 10 minutes ago I also found out that I could click F1 and the menu would return. But I appreciate the extra info nonetheless.

One other method (also not that intuitive) is to right-click on any tab and uncheck the "Minimize the Ribbon" option.

At least on my computer, it is Ctrl+F1.
F1 brings up Help, such as it is.

BTW, it is called the Ribbon in Word jargon, not the menu bar. Searches for "menu bar" and Word are likely to lead you to the older versions which do not have this feature or its related problems.

Ah, didn't know that. I'll remember that odd choice of words from now on. Maybe it will help my searches. Again, thanks.

Every time I think about a maypole and a "ribbon" I think about the original and very fine movie Wicker Man. ha ha
