Saving Word doc as PDF

This is my first post. When I try to save a Word doc as a pdf on my MacBook, a window opens to say the part of the footer is outside the printable area - do I want to go ahead. If I go ahead, the pdf includes only the top half of each page number. This did not happen when I was doing the same thing some months ago. How can I avoid the page numbers getting half cut off?

Please help!

The simple solution would be to fix the document's formatting. Your description suggests the page layout has been changed and the margins are now too small.
