Weird extra spacing when using speech marks in Word 2007?
Hi all,
On the attached, you can see that the line 'say 'my Piper Archer' has extra spacing, and I don't know why! The paragraph spacing is the same as elsewhere, removing the formatting or changing the style does nothing, and as you can see I've looked at the 'hidden' markings to no effect. The problem seems to be the apostrophes - if I take them out, the spacing returns to normal. But that's not right, surely? I've been editing books for three years without getting stymied - but now I'm stuck! Any ideas, please? Thanks in advance! p.s. Apologies if I've misplaced this topic. EDIT - Apologies - Word was, without marking it, somehow changing Ariel to Ariel 'Unicode'. Sorry to bother you! |
