Word inserting line breaks / wrapping text

Hi



I am currently working on a document and instead of allowing me to type across the length of the page, as normal, my sentences are being formatted so the text only goes across half the page. Hard to explain, but basically instead of normal formatting as typed here, I am getting this:

ggggggggggggggggggg
ggggggggggggggggggg
ggggggggggggggggggg

with no way of stopping the words jumping down. I have tried everything....paragraph settings etc. The rest of the doc is fine and formatted normally, it just seems to be this one page.

Any help much appreciated as it is driving me mad!
