Default Page in status bar is wrong; other status bar errors, as well

This is Word 2013 running on Win7. The status bar shows a completely wrong page count and page. This is true for a wide variety of documents. There are no section breaks in any of them. For example, on a 13 page document, it shows page 1 of 4 throughout the document. On another, it shows the document as 1 page, though it is far longer. Also, at times the page number doesn’t show, although page number (and formatted page number) are both check marked to show in the status bar. Word count never shows, although it is checked. I have tried removing the page count from the status bar and adding it back, closing Word and reopening, no change. Any thoughts on solving this problem would be most appreciated.

I haven't heard of this particular problem, but it seems to me that something must be broken in your installation. Try repairing Office as discussed at https://support.office.com/en-NZ/Art...e-a6b40c5bb88b.

Thank you. In fact a reboot of the system solved the problem, along with the other problem I had described in a separate post, with bizarre behavior when hitting next window key. I probably should have updated with this development, but since no one had replied in so long, I figured these posts would not get looked at again. Thanks for responding.
