![]() Hi all, The attached document is a capability framework that measures employee's skill levels. On this form I want to show where the employee is on the framework when they are hired; where they are on the framework when they are performance assessed and; where their target capability level should be. The issue however is that within the five levels an employee might be at the upper end of the level and almost ready to progress to the next (or only just reached the beginning of a level) - therefore it's not as simple as putting an 'x' in the correct box. Could you please help me think of an effective and user friendly way to represent the data visually on Word? Thanks! Liz ![]() |

Sorry its got me a bit stumped..
It's outside my skillset, but maybe someone could develop a VBA control assigned to a scroll bar. Then the colours can move based on where the scrollbar is positioned? Sounds complicated to develop though and not sure it would work within a table though. Maybe the alternative is to place a number box where the user can place a rating? Again to visually represent it would require some VBA, so you might need to post or move this post to that forum? (the VBA geniuses probably dont come in here much) |

Excel charts might be a better tool for this.

There are numerous ways you could handle this.
Perhaps the simplest approach is to insert a horizontal line, drawn from the left and extending as far right as needed to depict the progress. A more complicated approach would be to change the font format of the cells concerned to Courier New. Coupled with setting the line spacing to single and the cell margins to 0, you could fill each cell with up to 10 block characters created by typing 2588, Alt-x. With this approach, though, you can even colour the individual characters differently.
