Converting an orignal word file from xml, back to word
I have windows 8, was using Windows 7, transitioned and started my own business and took my files, i.e my resume off my work laptop and tranferred to my personal laptop... Well somewhere within the copying process all of my personal files went from word, excel, powerpoint, and etc to XML.... I tried following the instructions used for windows 7, but that didn't work...Any suggestions? I am attaching the an example for you to download and examine, I tried to attach and it won't accept the compressed zipfile... Thanks in advance for the help Diane P |

Hi Diane,
There's no attachment to your post. Office 2007 & later all use xml files stored in zip archives whose extensions denote the file format (e.g. docx & docm = Word document). If the Office extensions get changed to .zip, what you'll see instead is the xml files stored within the zip archives.
